Seven Emblems of Holy Spirit
“Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.”—Zech. 4:6.
INTRODUCTION: D L Moody wrote: It would appear from Scripture that the moment he finished the work, the moment that Tabernacle was ready, the cloud, the Shekinah, the Holy Spirit came and filled it so that Moses was not able to stand before the presence of the Lord.
I firmly believe that the moment our hearts and minds are emptied of pride and self, emptied of ambition and self-seeking and everything else contrary to God’s law, the Holy Ghost will come and fill every corner of our hearts; but if we are full of pride and conceit, full of self-seeking, full of pleasure and the world, there is no room for the Spirit of God. Many a man, praying for God to fill him, is full already with something else.
Before we pray for God to fill us, we should pray for God to empty us. There has to be an emptying before there can be a filling. And when the heart is turned bottom side up and everything is turned out that is contrary to God’s holy law, then the Spirit will come and fill it again, just as He did in the Tabernacle.
Years ago a saint was being buried. This aged saint was very poor in this world but very rich in the other world. Men were hastening him off to the grave, wanting to get rid of him. But an old minister, officiating at the grave, said, “Tread softly, for ye are carrying the temple of the Holy Ghost.”
Whenever you see a believer, you see the temple of the Holy Ghost.

CONCLUSION:
When Elizabeth and Mary met, they talked of the Scripture and of the Spirit. When they were both filled with the Holy Ghost, they at once began to talk of the Word of God.
We find that Simeon, as he came into the Temple and found the young child Jesus there, at once began to quote the Scriptures, and the Spirit was on him.
When Peter stood up on the day of Pentecost and preached that wonderful sermon, it is said he was filled with the Holy Spirit and began to preach the Word to them. It was the Word that cut them. It was the sword of the Lord and Peter, the same as it was the sword of the Lord and Gideon.
As to Stephen, it says, “None could resist his word.” Why? Because he gave them the Word of God. The Holy Spirit came on Stephen, he was full of the Holy Ghost, and “none could resist his word.”
When Paul was full of the Holy Spirit, he preached Christ and Him crucified, and many people were added to the church. -D L Moody
